Enhance social skills in all children; in particular by providing opportunities that enable them to learn how to co-operate and work harmoniously alongside and with, each other and to listen to each other;
Promote attention skills and persistence in all children; in particular their capacity to concentrate their own play or group tasks.
Provide a teaching and learning programme which promotes children’s learning in:
1. Language and Literacy
2. Personal, Social & Emotional Development
3. Mathematical Development
4. Knowledge and Understanding of the World
5. Physical Development
6. Creative Development
These are the aims which underpin the Foundation Stage curriculum at Bowes Hutchinson’s Primary School.
It is recognized that the curriculum for young children encompasses the experiences and the resources which the school provides, the relationships which exist within the school, and the procedures and organizational approaches, which contribute to the ethos of the school. All of these aspects of school life provide valuable learning opportunities and contribute to the achievement of these overall aims.
