Half Term Family Fun at Home |
School holidays are always a busy time at Raby Castle, Park and Gardens, and High Force Waterfall with lots of events and activities for families to enjoy.
We’ve got some fantastic activities lined up for you to enjoy at home this May Half Term!
Competitions Galore
Art Competition
Why not have a go at making your own castle or drawing a picture of the Castle or Waterfall at home?
Raby Castle and High Force Waterfall have been painted by many famous artists over the years, including JMW Turner, and now it’s your turn.
We’ll be picking our favourite at the end of May and the winner will receive a Raby Castle or High Force Annual Pass. To enter simply send us a message on Facebook with a photo of your artwork.
Short Story Competition
We invite you to use your imagination and time at home to take part in our special short story competition. The winner from each category will receive a Raby Castle Annual Pass and shortlisted stories will be published on our website.
Start writing now and submit your story before midnight on Friday 31st May.
New Activity Sheets
Colour in your very own Raby Deer, find all the words in our Waterfall wordsearch, and unscramble the names of wild birds found in Upper Teesdale.
Story Trails – Mice on the Castle Terrace
We know how much you love the story trails we run during the school holidays with our friends at Brightwoods. This half term we’ve taken inspiration from the fabulous story The Castle Mice, by Paddington creator Michael Bond. Visit our Facebook page from 9.00a.m on Saturday 23rd May to search for the mice who are hiding on the Castle Terrace.
Over on our blog we’re sharing some of the other Castle themed stories we’ve been enjoying during lockdown.
Kind Regards,
