Reporting symptoms after the school closes for Christmas Holidays

Bowes Hutchinson’s School will close on December 17th. If your child develops symptoms of coronavirus you must book a test.
If your child develops symptoms that result in a positive test, up to and including December 19th you must inform the school at c.matthewman200@boweshutchinsons.durham.sch.uk

Please include the name of your child, their class group and the date that their symptoms started, aswell as your own contact details.

From Sunday 20th December
If your child develops coronavirus symptoms from Sunday 20th December onwards, they must be tested and, if positive, follow the advice of Test and Trace. You do not need to inform the school of any symptoms which occur after this date.

Contact tracing during the Christmas break
Please be aware that the school, following the guidance of the Department for Education and Public Health, will do the following for 6 days after the end of term:
 Collect information from staff and pupils with positive tests and families of symptomatic pupils
 Advise families of close contact with confirmed Covid cases, and inform them of self-isolation requirements

Many thanks for your support in this matter.

I wish you all a happy, healthy and safe Christmas and look forward to welcoming your children back to school on Tuesday, January 5th 2021
Kind regards,
Chris Matthewman

SIAMS – Good with areas of Excellence

“This is a good church school with some features that show excellent practice. The care given to the development and recent revision of its distinctive Christian vision, which is based on love, reflects both the passionate leadership of the headteacher and the driving force of governors. ”

School Creed

"This is our school,
Let peace dwell here
Let the rooms be full of contentment,
Let love abide here,
Love of mankind,
Love of life itself,
And love of God,
Let us remember
That as many hands build a house,
So many hearts made a school"

School Vision

Love life, God, each other.
With Love, I can and I will.
Together we will succeed
Live courageously
Learn everyday

John 15:12 This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you
