Leavers’ Service at Ripon Cathedral
Year Six really enjoyed the leavers’ service at Ripon Cathedral and were ably supported by their Year Five Classmate. The theme was “Light” so they were asked to decorate a candle and take it to leave in the cathedral. They learnt new hymns to sing on the day and they were even chosen to stand at the front of the church and sign one of the hymns.
Later, they enjoyed lunch and some downtime at the play par
k in Leyburn before returning to school. Mr Nicholls, one of our foundation governors, came with us for the day and enjoyed spending time with the children. Thank you to all involved and to the children, described by Mrs MacInnes as the best behaved children in the church! Well done.
