World War One Project
Bowes Museum WW1 Project
The Museum is holding a celebration event on 13th November, 1.00-3.30pm for the completion of the Heritage Lottery Fund WW1 project that we have been taking part in. This has involved visiting the museum to take part in workshops, an artist visiting school to make poppies with the children and writing poems. Alex Jensen’s poem has been chosen by the museum to be included in a booklet and Thomas and Sophie Watson’s poems have been chosen to be recorded by the museum. On Remembrance Sunday Thomas and Darcy Jackson will join the parade and lay the wreath that has been made with our metal poppies. Next week, the children will receive a free family ticket for the Museum (valid on the 13th November). They will be able to take part in a variety of craft activities and look at the WW1 archive documents and objects with their families.
