The school is situated in the centre of the village of Bowes approximately four miles south west of Barnard Castle. The school caters for children from under five to eleven years of age and has a pre-school in the grounds which caters for children from eighteen months to age five.
The building consists of three classrooms, a library, a separate teaching area used for a variety of purposes and a special room where children can go for ‘quiet time’. There is a separate building across the playground, which is the school hall and dining room and a separate kitchen.
The site includes a large playing field, playground, purpose-built all weather play area, children’s individual gardens, a school pet area, a pond and wildlife area, a Gruffalo Story Trail, a ‘Secret Garden’ and an Early Years play area.
Today, we enjoyed an afternoon full of fun and fund raising as we welcomed parents to join us for coffee and cake followed by games and activities run by the children, including hook a duck, guess the name of the teddy and pin the cherry on the cake. A wonderful time was had by all and we look forward to revealing our total raised for Macmillan in next week`s newsletter.
